Networking – Collaboration and Co-operation for Women in the Law

CHERIE BOOTH QC

The Association of Women Solicitors and the Law Society are delighted to host the 2010 Fiona Woolf Lecture.  As part of its campaign to promote the success of women solicitors in business, the AWS welcomes Cherie Booth QC who will deliver this year’s lecture on how women can be successful at networking.

Cherie Booth is a leading barrister specialising in public law, human rights, employment and European Community law, arbitration and mediation.  She has appeared in a number of leading cases both at home and abroad.  She is also a noted speaker on human rights and a supporter of women’s rights.  She became a Queens Counsel in 1995 and in 1999 was appointed a Recorder in the Crown and County Courts.  She is also an active campaigner for prison reform.

The Myths of Women and Leadership

Professor Susan Vinnicombe OBE MA PhD MCIM FRSA

The Association of Women Solicitors and the Law Society are delighted to host the 2009 Fiona Woolf lecture. As part of its campaign to promote the success of women solicitors in business, the AWS is pleased that Professor Susan Vinnicombe will deliver this year’s lecture on how women can be successful leaders.

Professor Vinnicombe has consulted for organisations across the globe on how best to attract, retain and develop women executives. She has a particular interest in women’s leadership styles. In her lecture she will explain why it matters that we do have gender diversity in our leadership teams and how individuals and firms can achieve this. Professor Vinnicombe was awarded an OBE for her services to diversity in the Queen’s New Year’s Honour List in 2005.
